Person-centred is about providing care and support that is centred or focused on the individual and their needs. You may have something on a risk assessment that may have been relevant a year ago but now is no longer in play but something else may have replace it. Understand that individuals with disabilities have the same right as everyone else to take risks 1. I believe that working this way is good for service users and they feel important, feel respected and active part of their care. Maybe they have different ways of living.
In these situations the most important is the best interest of individual. Some people dislike terms of endearment, others will approve as it is part of their everyday language.
